Risk Factors:
-Prior Suicide attempts or family history of suicidal behavior
-Depression or family history of depression
-Drug or alcohol abuse
-Poor school performance
-Isolation; withdrawal from others; alienation
-History of sexual or physical abuse
-Family conflict or divorce; death in family
-Poor coping or problem-solving skills
-Trigger event or life crisis

Warning Signs:
-Talking about suicide
-Making statements about life is hopeless or that he or she is worthless
-Giving away a favorite or prized possession
-Engaging in risky behaviors or an increase in accidents
-Any drug or alcohol abuse
-Extreme moodiness, depression, or sadness
-Any change in sleep or appetite patterns
-Changes in behavior or personality
-Any change in a person's health or an incrase in physical complaints.
